Catch our smash hit from the Fringe before it’s too late! The Emigrants, written by Slawomir Mrozek and translated by Henry Beissel, follows two nameless migrants on one explosive New Year’s Eve as they face off with each other, and their place in the world. Join us after the show for a talk-back with the artists, where audience members will have the chance to ask questions and discuss the play. Have a question for the artists? We’d love to hear from you!

A “theatrical masterpiece…The best shows at Fringe are those that leave you to ponder on existential questions much after leaving the venue. The Emigrants did that for me.”

The Vancouver Arts Review

The Emigrants is being performed as part of the STAND Festival, presented by Blackout Theatre.

NEWS! Casting announced for our next show, Constellations by Nick Payne

Constellations is a funny and heartbreaking love story, told through the framework of string theory. Marianne, a physicist, and Roland, a beekeeper, meet by chance, and are instantly drawn to each other. As their relationship grows, they are confronted by choices that will alter their future and the trajectory of their lives. Moving and clever, Constellations is a play that makes you want to be alive.

Constellations will feature Jacob Machin and Gillian Clare

Says Jacob on the news: “I’m excited to bring such a uniquely crafted love story to life; a play that makes you consider what is, what would have been and what could be.”

Gillian says: “This is a breathtaking play. I can’t wait to play Marianne, and work alongside this exceptional group of artists.”

Nick Payne’s masterpiece premièred in London in 2012, where it won the Evening Standard Award for Best Play. The show then transferred to Broadway in a production starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson, earning Tony Nomination for Best New Play.
